FRF Motors in Swansea and Bridgend will turn its Vauxhall, Mazda and Car Warehouse showrooms into a gift drop-off point over the Christmas period, to help collect presents for the Mr X Christmas Appeal.
Until the 12th December, the FRF Motors showrooms on Neath Road in Morriston and Western Avenue in Bridgend Industrial Estate will be drop off points, where customers and members of the public can bring new presents and gifts to be distributed to local children who need support over Christmas.
The Mr X Christmas Appeal supports children and families from Swansea, Neath Port Talbot and Carmarthenshire, who are underprivileged and unable to afford Christmas gifts.
The charity was started by local resident Tom Bravin, who secretly collected gifts and presents for disadvantaged children for more than 57 years. Mr Bravin’s generosity and acts of kindness were revealed by his family, following his death last year.
The charity welcomes everything from puzzles, books, toiletry sets, teddy bears, baby dolls, toys, computer consoles and games, art and craft items and board games. For younger children, gifts can include interactive toys, rattles, snuggle blankets, baby toys and educational toys. The age range covered is 0 -16 years old and toys must be brand new and unwrapped.
Mr Harry Gummer, Director at FRF Motors, said, “The Mr X Christmas Appeal has a strong legacy in the Swansea and the surrounding areas and we are immensely proud to be supporting it this year. The charity thrives on secret gift donations, without which thousands of children would go without any presents on Christmas D ay. This year, we hope to fill the boot of a car in every showroom with gifts and toys, so we are asking our customers and local residents to help out as much as they can.”
The Toy drop-off points at FRF Motors in Swansea (Vauxhall, Mazda and Car Warehouse Showrooms) and Bridgend (Vauxhall and Car Warehouse Showrooms) will be open from now to 12th December.
