Mazda’s latest offering to the saloon class – the 2015 Mazda6 – offers a striking alternative to all others. Its unique look is complemented by unconventional performance which is both energetic and economical at the same time. Advanced technology is the reason for this convention-defying output, and equally significant innovations are found in other areas too.

Giving the 2015 Mazda6 Saloon its head-turning looks is the manufacturer’s KODO: Soul of Motion design language. It draws inspiration from the shapes made by animals moving in the wild as one look at the body shows. There are muscular creases over the wheel arches and narrow headlamps that give the front a determined expression. Chrome detailing frames the grille and front fog light surrounds, while 17-inch alloy wheels are standard fit.
Underneath the model’s sleek body is a supportive and comfortable cabin that seats five. Black cloth upholstery is replaced by luxurious leather in the range-topping Sport Nav model, to match the steering wheel and gear knob. A storage area on the centre console plus door and seat pockets hold important items and at the very rear there’s a generous 480-litre boot.
This latest-generation model boasts Mazda’s most recent developments to complete the cabin, notably the MZD-Connect infotainment system. This standard fixture features a 7” colour touchscreen display and Multimedia Commander which you use to control audio, telephone and satellite navigation functions where fitted. Integrated Bluetooth® enables you to take calls hands-free while on the move, and with iPod® connectivity you can enjoy your own choice of music.
Leading the 2015 Mazda6 Saloon forward is your choice of frugal and powerful engine. The 2.0 145PS and 2.0 165PS SKYACTIV-G petrols respond instantly when you dip the accelerator, and the higher-powered option completes 0-62mph in 9.1 seconds. The diesels include 2.2 150PS and 2.2 175PS SKYACTIV-D units with manual or automatic transmission, and the smaller engine with a manual gearbox is the most efficient. It returns as much as 68.9mpg combined while at the same time releasing only 107g/km of CO2. Choose the manual 2.2 175PS diesel for a 0-62mph sprint time of 7.9 seconds.
With a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating it is clear that the 2015 Mazda6 Saloon is well-equipped to help keep everyone it carries safe. Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) and a Traction Control System (TCS) guard against skidding by optimising engine output and braking force. Meanwhile, the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) also prevents the wheels from seizing up when you need to brake heavily to keep you in control. Hill Hold Assist, a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System and multiple airbags are just some of the other standard safety features.
The best way to explore the 2015 Mazda6 Saloon is from behind the wheel, and you can do so by booking a test drive with FRF Mazda. Enquire with our Swansea dealership today for more information.
